      Critics Consensus

While it has its moments, Kingdom Come is marred by a script that's low on laughs and uneven in tone.

David E Phaggot made bull$hit!!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/11/24 Full Review jordan m I tried to muster up a liking for this movie from the very beginning and just could not do it. The movie went out of its way to characterize Loretta & Jada's roles as absolute harpies, nagging their male counterparts for several minutes of screentime each as their way of starting the movie off and literally attempted to portray Jada's husband's murderous response as a joke, only to then have her continue in this vein literally the entire movie - it seemed they thought that her ultimately being correct about him cheating on her was her redemptive character arc, but it just did not work that way for me. The interactions between LL & Anthony's characters brought the movie way too far in the other extreme, which if I could forget that it's supposed to be a comedy could've made it a good movie, particularly LL's struggle with alcoholism & the non-funny matronly turn from Whoopi. The movie focused what felt like half of its screen time on Jada's character being just atrocious in every way, even splashing the well-meaning Anthony in the face in the middle of the funeral, then expected her forgiving him in the last 3 minutes of the movie to be a tidy ending. Not even the music, usually a highlight in black fold comedies, was of any note as it was all gospel music written mostly by the same guy. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I absolutely love this movie. Very inspirational and based on our daily lives story. 🙏⛪ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member hilarously funny! i watch it everytime it comes on Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member If you're looking for a well written film with meaning and that has a great plot than I suggest you bypass this film. However, if you're lookig for a movie "just for laughs", I just suggest you watch Kingdom Come. I can watch this movie over and over and still fall out of my seat from laughing so hard! Great pick-me-upper! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Good movie. Good soundtrack too Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Anthony Breznican Associated Press This story about relatives who set about annoying each other at a funeral has some heartfelt emotion, but it clashes spectacularly with unseemly gross-out humor.
