Jack S Grant hadn't yet hit his stride in this forgettable early musical-comedy that's notable only because he gets the chance to sing (which demonstrates the perfectly obvious reason why he never became a musical star), although he does still manage to demonstrate a bit of the effortless comic charm that would mark his career in many superior comedies in later years. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/10/23 Full Review Audience Member I'd recommend the 2 singing parts alone in the movie. It's got a few over the top silly moments, but i love watching this movie again and again. Its for cinephile's who watch movies from all time periods, not just the majority of cinephile's who 75-95% of the time watch movies from 2000 to the present. It requires a curiosity in seeing the past generations, before your parents and your own generation. I'm familar with tobin, mack and horton the supporting cast from dozens of other films from the 1930's through the 1950's, cary grant is well i'm sure everyone, even people who aren't familar with film know that name. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review steve d Fun because of Grant. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Tom M Another 30's Grant comedy that's fun to watch, even if it's predictable. Tobin is great as the beauty obsessed love interest. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/22/20 Full Review Audience Member Saw the redigitised version of this film, which made it look later than 1934. The acting reveals its age though, it's somewhat wooden and still very much 'stage' rather than 'film' in its delivery. What is most notable is the storyline about plastic surgery, and clearly how established it was in the early part of the 20th Century, which surprised me. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member good com-dram and the least known cary grant pic, for me anyways Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
