Saffron Maeve Globe and Mail n fantasizing fantasy, Condon, who once gave us far campier images, defaults to less imprinting sights and stifled tropes in this mostly unmemorable spectacle. Oct 18, 2025 Full Review Odie Henderson Boston Globe As for Lopez, this is the star turn she was born to play. She makes Sergio Trujillo’s choreography look effortless. Her looks range from the extreme Louise Brooks bob of her spider-costumed title character to a coif so blonde that it glows. Rated: 3.5/4 Oct 17, 2025 Full Review Carla Meyer San Francisco Chronicle Proves the durability of a good story — and story within a story — no matter how many generic John Kander and Fred Ebb songs, weakly performed by Jennifer Lopez, come with it. Rated: 3/4 Oct 14, 2025 Full Review Michael Cook KARK-TV Neither story quite works. Even though they're in prison, it doesn't feel like the stakes are that particularity high, and when they switch over to the fantasy part they don't give Jennifer Lopez enough to do. Rated: 7/10 Oct 18, 2025 Full Review Luke Y. Thompson Mortal Cinema (Substack) it’s visually stunning to see, though the conceit is by now almost a trope Oct 17, 2025 Full Review Alison Gillmor Winnipeg Free Press The prison sequences are so good that the musical numbers increasingly feel like irritating interruptions, dragging down the film as a whole. Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 17, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

James N I was wondering how Kids of the Spider Woman would translate into a musical. What a beautiful film It is! The cast is fantastic and a very interesting way of storytelling, both powerful and moving, and the fantasy technicolor musical elements were superb! The actor Tonatiuh who plays Molina was fantastic And the on screen chemistry with Diego Luna and He were genuine and moving. Jo Lo was absolutely beautiful and brought glamour and old classic musical feeling back! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/20/25 Full Review Eneida I D It is absolutely stunning film. The cast is incredible their chemistry is amazing especially explosive between JLo & Diego. A timely film with three Latine leads absolute must see. JLo ate! They deserve all the awards. ALL OF THEM! This almost is a great movie but falls a tiny bit short. Musical numbers are fine, but the dancing really is the star of the film.
