What to Know

Critics Consensus

It's pure formula, but thanks to its breezy pace and a pair of charming performances from Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, Knight and Day offers some agreeably middle-of-the-road summer action.

Ange Anderson Bitch Media Having seen the film, I can only shake my head at the studio's optimism. Dec 29, 2020 Full Review Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online Knight and Day is a bit too long (one too many plot twists that made you just not care by the end) but it's fun though predictable thrill ride. Sep 9, 2023 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Though it won’t hold up under a closer inspection of the plot, its fast-paced nature supplies an almost perfect blend of laughs and action to the summer moviegoer. Horror fan 4 This was a blast to watch. Funny and action packed. The chemistry between Cruise and Diaz was great and I laughed a lot. Definitely worth watching. Tim Treakle Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/25 Full Review Audience Member It was fun but was carried mostly by the lead actors who were great - although I wasn't convinced by the love interest. No spark between them observed. The script was formulaic and a bit lazy. Some characters were really fun and others unspeakably annoying. Had it been done nowadays I would have suspected it was written by AI rather than people. Being utterly predictable didn't really spoil it too much though. Don't take it too seriously and enjoy it as a bit of silly fun. The one thing that did annoy me was having arrived in Seville, in the south of Spain we see people running from bulls in the streets during the festival of San Fermin which actually takes place in Pamplona in the north. This would be like a European director making a film set in New York City with the New Orleans mardi gras taking place on Broadway. Basic lack of respect to Spain and patronising contempt to the American audience presuming they neither know nor care. My point is how will they every know if they're fed nonsense like this? As some of the cast were actually Spanish the film makers must have been told but just not cared. Poor show. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/25 Full Review David D Just a solid series of fun larks wrapped around a easy watching action film. Fun for all the family. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/13/25 Full Review Audience Member So much fun, every minute. Underrated. Great chemistry and superb ridiculousness! I think this is a classic buddy comedy. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/29/24 Full Review Mike C Pure entertainment for anyone who likes Cruise charisma or Diaz charm. Nice mix of action, comedy, and star power. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/18/24 Full Review Thomas C Ridiculously underrated. A breezy good time that should've gotten better reviews. It's better than the overpraised Pitt/Jolie Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Tom Cruise shows that he can do comedy as well as any leading man out there.
