      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Knock Knock brings a lot of talent to bear on its satirical approach to torture horror, but not effectively enough to overcome its repetitive story or misguidedly campy tone.

Rory M Just kind of bad, it feels like one of those YouTube films with a budget of like €5, Keanu gives the bare minimum to be considered to be acting but at times moderately entertaining/thought provoking but not still overall pretty bad Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review Jack L Moderately entertaining But the script was pretty weak You could kind of expect the whole movie going in the direction it did All in all I didn't really like it. It left me with a feeling of uneasiness and I don't know why anybody would want to put themselves through something like this bad vibes. It was like a cringe comedy with a little bit of intensity in there definitely a two out of five for leaving me with an impactful feeling inside my stomach and mind. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/10/24 Full Review DubHead I was really disappointed with Keanus performance. He's usually a great actor, but he didn't perform well in this movie IMO. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/06/24 Full Review Rogerio M Horrible! One of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life. Terrible script! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/24 Full Review João G One of the worst movies that i ever watched. No context, just a bunch nonsense scenes. Looks like a movie made to make fun from the viewers. Alison Willmore BuzzFeed News Knock Knock, which is about two women wreaking havoc on a married man, aspires to be titillating. But more than anything, both persistently, persuasively angle to make you angry. Nov 9, 2015 Full Review Bilge Ebiri New York Magazine/Vulture The characters are driven by convenience, not behavior, and their actions seem like they've been manhandled into place to make the plot work. Oct 11, 2015 Full Review Dan Callahan TheWrap "Director Eli Roth's "Knock Knock," a remake of the 1977 exploitation picture "Death Game," sometimes plays more like a comedy than like the grungy thriller that inspired it, but that's often all to the good." Oct 10, 2015 Full Review Jaime Grijalba Vague Visages Obviously, the character abuse doesn’t just reflect the physical abuse of Chilean workers, as it’s physical too — almost as if the filmmakers were conscious of what they were doing to our cinema. Dec 1, 2023 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Roth's lowest-common-denominator approach reduces a primal, campy idea into nothing more than a dull homage to an exploitation flick. Rated: 2/4 May 12, 2022 Full Review Dan Brightmore NME (New Musical Express) ...sonically tortured by techno and stabbed with a fork, Reeves is game for the kitsch carnage that ensues.
