JJJJJJ J Not a very good film all and all. Its crazy that a hour and eighteen minute film can feel so long but... There is just so much inefficiency in the way in which this story is told so many shots that both having jarring movement and are unnecessarily long. It brags out the film and just makes it generally more boring. The story is quite simplistic and often I just wish it was told in a more efficient fashion. The ending maybe 10 minutes were substantially better but it did not make up for the rest of the films failures. Very much a skip. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/19/23 Full Review Hugo - Shudder F The eerie atmosphere and the amazing performance from the main protagonist are the core attractions of this horror movie. But the climax is too predictable with the protagonist being consumed by her own psychological drama. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review brad p ‘Knocking' Challenges Perceptions with Stunning Psychological Thriller Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member a slow burn, for sure, but also effective. i enjoyed it. i feel like most everyone can somewhat relate to hearing sounds through walls via neighbors or other family members; & the paranoia that could come with constant unknowns. especially when you're alone. i thought it was well done. would recommend, but you'd have to be in the mood for it i think. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Emil T This Swedish film really puts you into the shoes of someone experiencing mental issues, which is terrifying. Great performance by Cecilia Milocco. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/16/22 Full Review Audience Member A deep psychological drama from the well established Swedish tradition of producing films that are mind numbingly boring to sit through. Despite its relatively short length it felt much, much longer. Well acted, but dull, dull, dull. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Phuong Le Guardian Moments of visual ingenuity and a deep understanding of psychological suspense show that Kempff is one to watch. Rated: 3/5 Nov 8, 2021 Full Review Monica Castillo RogerEbert.com In addition to its mind-bending narrative, the visual style of Knocking is equally as striking. Rated: 3/4 Oct 8, 2021 Full Review Nicolas Rapold New York Times Pulling off this claustrophobic level of immersion requires better orchestration than Kempff's drawn-out buildup. Oct 7, 2021 Full Review Alisha Mughal Exclaim! Heat is powerful and rich, Kempff seems to say in this thriller, turning it into a veritable monster: a looming, suffocating, ever-present terror that makes protagonist Molly (Çecilia Milocco) lose an already-lost mind. Rated: 7/10 Aug 15, 2023 Full Review Cate Young Thirty, Flirty + Film "Knocking is gripping, and yet the suspense is so mundane it’s almost boring. But Kempff knows what she’s doing. Each time the audience might be inclined to drift, she pulls them back in, feeding new morsels to the line." Nov 19, 2022 Full Review Mitchell Beaupre Awards Radar Knocking is a tough watch at times, but you’re constantly glued to Milocco’s performance, developing a deep concern and empathy for the woman, whether she’s going crazy or if this is all really happening.
