Fighter Johnny Rocket (Arthur Kennedy) agrees to the request of his fiancée, Angela (Olympe Bradna), to quit boxing after his next bout. Promoter Trego (Anthony Quinn), who has just purchased Johnny's contract, urges him to continue and realize his abilities, but Johnny refuses. Later, after the couple marries and Angela is pregnant, Johnny can't find work and returns to Trego and the ring. With Trego's guidance, Johnny's career blossoms -- but with disastrous results for his marriage.

See more 07/13/2009 I accidentally put a review here for a 1941 film of the same name and could not delete my review because Flixster is apparently missing some pretty basic funtions.
