Audience Member A wonderful black comedy set during the German invasion of Yugoslavia in 1941. A raggle taggle collection of misfits - singers, soldiers, newly-weds, pigs - are forced to catch the only bus going to Belgrade. Its driver likes to be blindfolded, his father the ticket-collector is an alcoholic bully. Imagine The Wages of Fear reworked by Jacques Tati and you'll get the flavour. A small gem. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member An odd mixture of comedy, slapstick and tragedy that works. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the best film ever Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A work of art! The movie became an instant classic all over Yugoslavia immediately upon its release. To this day, almost three decades later, it endures as one of the most quotable movies ever to come out of the Balkans. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This brilliant flick about several people traveling to Belgrade just before start of the WW2 in Yugoslavia is probably worth an Oscar or two. It is very profound, intelligent and, above all, funny. Jokes are typically Balkanesque, which makes it even more original in global circuits. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazing film! But of course, you have to be from former Yugoslavia to understand it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
