Ajit I The movie theme involves a working woman named Jaya in her early thirties (probably), an MBA, who has divorced her earlier husband and is now living independently in Mumbai. She has a 10-12 year old son from the previous marriage who stays in a hostel. She comes across a well off young man to whom she is attracted. This man responds and turns out to be a divorcee with a son a little younger than her own. They start living together and are quite contented. With a view to getting their children to know each other, before their marriage, they plan a vacation to Ladakh. Initially the children & their parents get along well but after some time there is some awkwardness on the part of Jaya’s son regarding the new proposed relationship. The various issues involved in such complex & delicate relationships are brought out well. However Jaya’s past life with her husband and her relationship with him doesn’t sound authentic, given that it’s a love marriage. The live in partner appears adaptable initially, but subsequently it appears that he hasn’t fully bought into the relationship and doesn’t respect her independence. The relationship finally breaks down over this issue! A relatively well made movie depicting a pressing issue of the modern world! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/14/25 Full Review Read all reviews
