Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com A bit too rough around the edges in too many regards to attract attention beyond being something of a novelty, Hidalgo shows promise with the level of ambience and laudable look of the film. Rated: 2/5 Nov 3, 2020 Full Review Ken Hanke Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC) It may look like a standard haunted house movie on the surface, but this is really a finely crafted supernatural thriller of a very different -- and startlingly complex -- kind. Rated: 4.5/5 May 2, 2015 Full Review Anton Bitel Projected Figures The great intricacy of its paradoxical plotting only really becomes apparent in retrospect, and will have you mentally revisiting its rooms and corridors for some time afterwards... replays in the head much better than it plays on the screen. Jairo S Excellent movie. The story is very attractive for the people. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/24 Full Review AJ M I caught this Spanish flick on Peacock. I think I watched the first 10 minutes or so without CC turned on but then it seemed to get interesting so I turned CC on. In full disclosure, I have been binging a lot on horror movies interspersed with Hallmark holiday fare. This movie had a surprising, twist ending, which actually made me quite emotional. I recommend this movie if you are into horror, time-travel and surprises. Cheers. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Honestly, this movie is quite possibly the best horror movie I have ever seen other than The Thing (1980). It's one of those movies that seems like it's kind of just ok, but there comes a moment in the film where everything changes and it blows your mind. The twist is very well written, and very airtight. When I originally watched this movie, I thought the fact that it was a foreign film would be off-putting, having to read subtitles the whole time. But once it started, it almost immediately sucked me in so well that I completely forgot I was watching a foreign film. Absolute must-see. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm a big fan of this movie. Not only was the plot interesting from beginning to end, but it also had me scared at multiple times during the movie. Note, I'm a fan of jump scares that imo weren't cheap, and this film had quite a few of them that worked on me. Plus the fear created by those jump scares didn't just dissipate afterwards... the film did a great job of maintaining that feeling of fear/tension. The atmosphere that surrounded the plot was very appealing as it felt eerie throughout. And the cinematography was really good as the house's interior was creepy. Add to that the acting was spot on, and there isn't really anything that stood out to be negative. And as a bonus the plot is layered with multiple timelines, so you have to stay on your toes in order to really understand the little details in order to have the best viewing experience. I would recommend this for horror fans that aren't averse to jump scares. There are other methods used to scare as well, but if you're not a fan of any kind of jump scare you will get irritated. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member La amé completamente de principio a fin Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member more drama than horror and filled with twists in the plot, LA CASA DEL FIN DE LOS TIEMPOS, is a satisfying horror movie with a good performance from the main character. To many cliches in the movie and some bad acting included, mainly because it looks like a low budget in some aspects. The drama his a little bit to much and almost spoils the film. It looks like the plot of Oculus (2013). Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
