Maybe Andy Warhol didn't make the quintessential Pop Art masterwork. Maybe Jean-Luc Godard did. Go to Full Review

The spirited cast -- including Anne Wiazemsky, Jean-Pierre Laud, and Juliet Berto -- make all this touching as well as troubling. Go to Full Review

Its pace, for all the talk, is exhilarating, its use of primary colors hard and beautiful, its shifts of mood and action are both intricate and dazzling; while its feeling for its characters is always serious and affectionate, even when Godard is mocking. Go to Full Review

Alexsander F 12/18/2024 Acho difícil fazerem uma obra tão revolucionária como esta de novo, um dos meus filmes favoritos de formação e inspiração. Godard não é para ser compreendido, e, sim, assistido em estado de graça. See more 01/07/2016 A political film made with few resources See more 05/30/2015 Aside from being an oddly effective experimental film, Godard's movie not only captures the mood of a generation in 1968 --- it seems to pull you back to the time. There is an odd sort of cinematic alchemy going on here. See more 09/17/2014 No matter what genre you opt to place it, Godard's LA CHINOISE is pure pop art. And, it is nothing short of fantastic. See more 04/09/2014 The first hour of the film is nothing but a bunch of pretentious college students confusing Marxism and theatre, I was sure I was going to hate this. And then the movie changes gears. See more 06/28/2013 A very funny film that was a joy to see. Jean-Luc Godard proves he can do anything with this one, this film has so many things that make it hard to like but he makes it enjoyable. I especially loved that Mao song. See more Read all reviews
