Michael McNeely That Shelf Great story, but an unfortunately long, winding runtime. Apr 25, 2019 Full Review Kent Turner Film-Forward.com Although this movie has the field to itself, it easily wins the title of best medical drama, circa the 2010s. Rated: 3/4 Mar 3, 2017 Full Review Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat Spirituality & Practice A riveting French social justice drama about a courageous female whistleblower who discovered the health hazards of a diet drug. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review jean-pol c My opinion-. "The daughter of Brest" is a medical thriller by Emmanuelle Bercot, who was already the director of the very good movie "La Tête Haute", it is attached here to retrace the true story of Irène Frachon pneumologist at the hospital Of Brest, who noticed that patients were sick with the Mediator and were dying of it, to stop the prescription of this bad medicine that was harming public health, she fought tooth and nail against the pharmaceutical laboratories Servier, who had developed The famous medicine "Mediator". Steven Soderbergh's "Erin Brockovich" case, but here it is not the same level, although it has done everything to achieve it, already its budget 5.6 million euros against $ 51 million is still a big difference, it is true for two different quality productions and I would even say that for his budget Emmanuelle Bercot, has done a good job. But I felt a lack of rhythm and dialogue, but the energetic and powerful performance of Sidse Babett Knudsen alone gives the movie strength, but I do not understand why I took an actress with an accent, that the real Irene Frachon did not have it, it's a bit distorting the character and doing all those driving scenes by talking incessantly on the phone, alone or with her children and being distracted at all times, all this To give false sensations to this movie, of unnecessary addition for me. In conclusion the film has had the merit of treating a very important social fact facing the nonchalance of certain practices in those circles who are first of course there to make money but without abusing the misfortune and well- Being of others.
