The Foywonder Dread Central If you liked Eight Legged Freaks and you can overlook the film's cheap stop-motion effects, then Arachnia should satisfy your B-movie fix on a rainy night. John R Ray Harryhausen is spinning in his grave. Shelob is crying. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/18/22 Full Review Audience Member 36/100. This is not to be confused with the decent Arachnophobia, this film is a very low budget and cheap rip-off of that movie. This one is so bad, it actually does have some entertainment value on that level. There are numerous unintended (I think) laugh out loud scenes. I wasn't expecting much from the film, and it was actually worse than I had imagined it would be. It's a cliche ridden and predictable direct to video mess. Fortunately, it doesn't take itself too seriously. The acting, as expected, is not quite Oscar caliber. The special effects are poor, worse than I would have thought they would be. Poorly edited and the score is intrusive. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member After such popular demand (sarcasm), the king of C-grade low budget horror, Brett Piper (Drainiac, They Bite, A Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell) has delivered what millions upon millions of fans (more sarcasm) have demanded: a huge nature run-amok spider film. After a meteor hits the Earth in a atomic bomb type fashion, a large hole is opened, allowing caved in massive spiders to roam about freely in order to abduct humans (when they are not too busy drinking moonshine or having lesbian sex) and bring them back to their lair in order to impregnate them with spider larvae which hatch Alien-style. This film is a hoot and a half to watch and should really not be taken seriously in order to enjoy it. One of them broads flaunts her titties around, so that's nice, but the real treasure of this film is ALL of the dynamite and bombs that are used which manage to blow the spiders AND ONLY the spiders up and not ANYTHING else around them including rooftops, landscape, and even humans. Hardy har har; a har-fest of hilarity! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member One of theworst films I have ever seen.really awful acting, incredibly bad special FX,plods along at a really crap pace - despite a couple of amazing one liners "Well cut off my arms and leg's and call me stumpy" this film is dire, seriously it's worse than an A-level students media project, and not even the Lesbian Sex scene can save this film because that is hilarious aswell, seriously this film is full blown aids - it started as one of those awful films that is still entertaining but in the end it felt like watching a Train wreck or something. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I saw about 10 minutes of this on Zone Horror last night - it's amazing what you can do with a couple of planks of wood (the actors) and some plasticine (the spider not-so-special effect). Hilarious, but not worth watching all the way through unless you want your brain to melt lol. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews
