Manu Yáñez Fotogramas Guédiguian knows how to capitalize on the fascinating charm of his protagonist, brought to life with sense and sensitivity by his eternal muse, Ariane Ascaride. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/5 Jul 25, 2025 Full Review Javier Ocaña El Pais (Spain) La pie voleuse is one of [Robert Guédiguian's] minor works. But, just like with those other directors who keep returning to the same film over and over again, we know that when they stop making them we'll miss them. [Full review in Spanish] Jul 24, 2025 Full Review Philipp Engel Cinemanía (Spain) A Guédiguian faithful to his essence, but with a touch of distinction. Hedvig S It was okay, but the love affair story really brought it down. There was some good acting, some good character development (especially the protagonists husband), but in the third act they introduce a love story that feels very weird. It is not that I don't think there should be love affairs in fiction (it is a French movie after all, it is expected), but what took me out of the world was that the first kiss felt really oddly placed. At first I thought it was going to be sexual assault, it felt so very weird. If they had only depicted this a bit more subtly, perhaps with a series of shared scenes, glances and text messages or something like that - then it could work. As it was now, it was so weird that it just annoyed me and I couldn't really get back into the movie after that. It really brought it down, a lot.
