Audience Member Si hubieran dicho que esta película es un remake de the hangover les hubiera hido mejor, es entretenida pero no tiene casi nada original de otras películas norteamericanas que ya hemos visto. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Nada de otro mundo. Algo como proyecto X pero argentino Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review jesse o If you ever wanted to see what an Argentinian version of The Hangover would look like, this is that movie. It's all there. A wild party, waking up the next day with very little recollection of what happened the night before. Getting into dangerous situations with criminals over one thing or another, raunchy humor. It's all there, it really is. With that said, I'm a little mixed on my thoughts about this movie. It's certainly not good, let's get that out of the way right now. I don't think it has the consistency that, say, the first Hangover had to be considered good. But it's also not necessarily as bad as one would expect given the fact that the first 40 minutes of the movie, prior to the the 'last party' which is what the title translates to in English. The first 40 minutes are obviously setting up what's gonna come after the party, but they take so long to get to that point that the movie almost dies a horrible death. And that's not even saying that what comes after is great, but at least it's better than everything that came before. The party itself is well-done, but it's every party you've ever seen in any movie ever. I guess that, inherently, that's the problem with films that focuses on partying, the parties themselves feel way too similar. At best, I would say that this movie ranges from the watchable to average range. Much like the Spaniards, Argentinians have creative insults and this movie uses that to get a lot of its comedy. I think it relies on it more than, say, the last movie I reviewed (Anacleto, Agente Secreto or Spy Time in English). I think this movie expects the clever insults to make up for the fact that there's minimal story to go on here. The guys, after the party, lose what they believe to be an expensive painting. And their journey to claim it back is what drives the movie forward. They get into the required hi-jinks, involving silly supporting characters, but I don't think there's a real story to speak of. I suppose Dante finally standing up for himself and having the confidence in his paintings that he should have had from the start. But that's about it as it relates to any sort of character development. Alan falls in love with the woman that he gave the painting to and he goes after her to see if they can pursue a relationship. It's basic stuff and it's not what one would call particularly interesting. And, again, the film hopes that with its usage of foul language that you won't notice the flaws underneath its exterior. I can't say that it worked. Don't get me wrong, the cast is quite good and their interactions are the best part of the film. There's also some moments where I laughed, I can't deny that. But I also can't deny that the movie falls short of the goals that it, probably, set for itself. And maybe they weren't even reaching that high, they just wanted to make a goofy movie in the vein of The Hangover. I don't think they necessarily managed recreate that tone that from the first Hangover, but it's closer to the second and third movies. Except it's not as mean-spirited, particularly the second Hangover movie. Oof, talk about some truly vile comedy. This movie never comes as close to that, thankfully. With that said, I still can't say that this is a good movie. It's an unsuccessful attempt to recreate a better movie and, while it does have a good cast and some funny scenes, it desperately needed its own unique style to it. This is watchable, at best. Nothing more. If you want something easily digestible, this will do the trick, but don't expect to come out of it fully satisfied. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
