Noel Murray The Dissolve Taken less as a statement (or prank), though, and more as a series of purely cinematic moments, La ltima Pelcula is frequently funny and beautiful. Rated: 3/5 Jan 9, 2015 Full Review Andy Webster New York Times Amusing as Mr. Perry is, it is Mr. Martin and Mr. Peranson's exuberant, often lyrical imagery that distinguishes "La ltima Pelcula." Jan 8, 2015 Full Review Tomas Hachard NPR ltima pelcula becomes a movie about finality, about the ways we stand in awe of end-times even as they strike fear in us ... Jan 8, 2015 Full Review John Fink The Film Stage Complex, rich and often very funny, the feature is also a love letter to film, and, at the same time, a complete cop-out. Rated: B Feb 25, 2016 Full Review Ethan Alter Film Journal International Pelcula starts to feel repetitious and hermetically sealed, a prolonged joke that's unsustainable precisely because it's targeted at such an ultra-specific audience. Jan 8, 2015 Full Review Jake Cole Movie Mezzanine Often riotously funny, the film also attains an evocative beauty. Rated: A- Feb 5, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member A wry, amusing, arch comedy about pretensions - both behind the camera among the filmmakers, and in front of the camera among those gathered to experience the end of the Mayan calendar. A rather dadaesque approach leaves the audience a bit off balance unless they can just let go of expectations. In an odd bit of synchronicity, a segment of dialogue delivered by the "director" character paralleled, and even intersected, statements made by Godfrey Reggio about his movie VISITORS at a screening/Q&A I'd attended a few days earlier. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a patchwork of the engaging, the confusing, the distracting, the entertaining and the strange.
