Audience Member I hated this movie. It is so unbearably slow that you will want to kill yourself. Pretentious to the point of absurdity. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member The young Isabelle plays Pomme, who has become an iconic character over the years. The book is just as tragic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Beautiful movie, but very sad. And what's up with all the skinny people, don't they eat in France?! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Magiskt fantastiska Isabelle Huppert! Klassiker jag ej sett förrän nu. Lågmält klass-/relationsdrama med undertoner av krypande obehag. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Somewhat dated - Huppert before she became a saint and Goretta deserved a statue Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Delicado e terno como Isabelle Huppert. Um filme triste. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

David Ansen Newsweek Dominated by Isabelle Huppert's magnificent performance, The Lacemaker is like "The Story of Adèle H." seen through the other end of the telescope. It may lack Truffaut's broad scale, but it has a deeper ring of truth. Mar 7, 2023 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times The movie's performances are wonderfully subtle. Rated: 4/4 Jun 15, 2018 Full Review E. Katherine Mederos Sojourner Isabelle Huppert is lovely. The diversity of emotions in her expression is wonderful to watch. Aug 14, 2019 Full Review Jesús Fernández Santos El Pais (Spain) Pomme seems too introverted, her friends too intellectual and ridiculous, and François himself is poorly defined. They all form a schematic ensemble that neither the script nor the director wanted to delve into. [Full Review in Spanish] Jul 30, 2019 Full Review Cole Smithey ColeSmithey.com Isabelle!
