This Disney animated classic follows a pampered cocker spaniel named Lady (Barbara Luddy) whose comfortable life slips away once her owners have a baby. When, after some tense circumstances, Lady finds herself on the loose and out on the street, she is befriended and protected by the tough stray mutt Tramp (Larry Roberts). A romance begins to blossom between the two dogs, but their many differences, along with more drama at Lady's household, threaten to keep them apart.

Ranking the Disney animated features is an exercise in futility along the lines of ranking David Bowie singles or ranking Edgar Allan Poe stories: Everyone has their own personal favorites. In the case of Disney, my vote goes to Lady and the Tramp.

It’s a movie about dogs, with two cats and a rat as the villains. Ok, that is oversimplified. The story of lovers from opposite sides of the economic spectrum is done well here and some of the music (“Belle Noche” and “He’s a Tramp”) is iconic. Plus the spaghetti scene is one of the best in Disney canon, if not all of film history. Definitely worth checking out!

Lady and the Tramp is one of the best Disney classics of all time. Dog lovers will love it, as well as anyone who love good Disney films. Barbara Luddy does a good job as Lady and Larry Roberts is a great funnyman as Tramp, along with a great supporting cast with Bill Thompson, superstar Peggy Lee, and The Mellomen. They just don't make them like this anymore
