Audience Member Rather mindless detective story placed in the victorian England. Set is done quite ingeniously, the rest doesn't rise up to expectations. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member A period drama, a tale with a twist. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I was an ok movie if it hadn’t been based on a book that was amazing. The book was all about secrecy, deception and basically how crazy Lady Audely went trying to keep her secrets. Most of this movie had nothing to do with the book. The story wasn’t supposed to be this obsession/love story on the part of the nephew. Which would have been ok enough in itself for a movie but the storyline & acting wasn’t even that good. All the suspense is gone in the fist 20 minutes, so I would have been bored even if I didn’t know the story already. After the entire plot was ruined there was no investigating so they ended up leaving out some really important characters. The Fire scene wasn’t remotely similar, it’s where they’re supposed to find out the friend isn’t dead & all the ends are tied up. Artistic license is fine but this was ruined. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Sooooooo not like the awesome book this crapfest is based on. They changed the story around, the actress playing Lady Audley is lame, and it's not the cool detective story it was meant to be. The guy that played Talboys was pretty hot (I hear he's on Battlestar Galactica so at least he went somewhere). But that's about the only positive I can give. BOO. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I was interested in seeing this, since the book was so awesome. This film version is basically a pile of crap. They changed the story around, the actress playing Lady Audley was awful, and it wasn't a detective story like it was meant to be. LAME. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting victorian story with lots of twists and turns. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
