michael s This film is spectacular! Outstanding ensemble with brilliantly written based on true events. Disregard the critic reviews, they're all meaningless and still can't comprehend why any one bothers with their opinions. This film should have been lauded for its brilliance. A masterpiece film classic! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member You must be into British history to enjoy this. As a Yank wife is British: they got mad at me as I ran the board on British Jeopardy "we broke away but we must know our mother's history" is my philosophy. Lady Jane, whom I saw her portrait at Glamis Castle and is supposed to haunt the place got a raw deal. It is a good historical time piece. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Beautiful sets and costumes, wonderfully acted by both greats and a very young Helen Bonham Carter and Cary Elwes. The history is embellished and romanticized, but the heart of the story is still powerful and moving. I cry every time. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review jayne k The history is inaccurate in a lot of ways but I can't fault the performances or the look of the film. It made me a fan of Cary Elwes forever. It's quite forgotten now but I saw it again recently and it was worth watching again. If you put Cary Elwes, Patrick Stewart and Helena Bonham Carter together there is no way to lose. Not many people know anything about Jane Grey anyway, so it hinges on its pure entertainment value, which is great. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The story was quite romantic and enjoyable even up to the end. Made me want to know more about the true history behind the character portrayals. I'm sorry I didn't know it existed until now. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review johann m A romance history film that shows the story of Lady Jane Grey, the Nine Days' Queen, portrayed by Helena Bonham Carter on her reign and romance with husband Lord Guildford Dudley. It was certainly an unfair fate that should not have happened like that. Anyway it keeps a slow pace that makes you think the film should have been shorter.
