Audience Member Jean Arthur is wasted in this inconsequential movie that features none of her talents. She had already made many fine films, including You Can't Take It With You, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, and Only Angels Have Wings. She was a respected actress by that time, and doubtless wound with this second-rate script, with John Wayne, no less, because her husband was the producer. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member I am absolutely dumbfounded why the movie isn't considered a classic! This is a really cosy and heart-warming romantic comedy. It will restore your faith in love and beauty of life. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review kevin w East meets West in this easygoing, time-passing romantic comedy about a city girl (Jean Arthur) who meets a cowboy (John Wayne), and their one night out in a Western town. It depends wholly on the charm of the leads and there's just enough of that to get by, but hardly anything more than that. It's not bad. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Chaotic and at times annoying little screwball comedy where all the characters act nuts just for the sake of acting nuts. I usually like JEan arthur, but here she is just too much. John Wayne comes across better, but not by much. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Here's one for you rodeo fans!
