Catherine Bray Guardian It’s encouraging to see low-budget early-career film-making with ambition. Rated: 3/5 Sep 16, 2024 Full Review Alexandra Heller-Nicholas AWFJ.org Last Straw is as much about the journey as it is the destination, and there’s a genuine feeling of delight as protagonist Nancy’s night from hell takes us to places its otherwise seemingly generic set-up might not prepare us for. Oct 23, 2023 Full Review Meagan Navarro Bloody Disgusting The siege horror is effective, and Neal’s assured grasp on the tricky narrative framing makes for an engaging debut. Rated: 3/5 Oct 17, 2023 Full Review Lee McCoy DrumDums It's set entirely in a diner, which I love, and Jessica Belkin is a character you might be annoyed by at first, but give her a chance. She has a nice arc. This is what The Strangers Chapter 1 should have been due to the killers having a similar appeal. Rated: 7.5/10 Jan 14, 2025 Full Review Daniel Eagan Film Legacy Hits what viewers want in a slasher movie. Dec 28, 2024 Full Review Ezequiel Boetti EscribiendoCine What begins with pranks, each one more brazen than the last, escalates to a point of no return in which violence takes over the stage. Mark P Not great. A lot of reviews said it had tons of twists and turns. It doesn’t. It has one twist but it’s a bit of a stretch that isn’t really surprising and feels drawn out. I felt bored and the ending isn’t satisfying. It does have realistic kills. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/19/25 Full Review Audience Member Last Straw is pretty straight forward with no twists or turns as it's predictable. In fact I was able to predict what was to happen before it occurred. The movie is pretty realistic with it's violence and kill scenes. The problem I had with this film was that the story line was pretty linear throughout without much substance. I was looking and hoping for more but then sadly dissapointed. The movie kind of has a Strangers film vibe toward the beginning but then that quickly fades away when we learn who the major players are. Last Straw still manages to get more right then wrong in it's 90 minute run time. Last Straw gets a solid 2 1/2 stars out of 5 from me. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/25 Full Review Horror fan 4 It starts off good but when we realize it's not what it seems it was disappointing. Nancy was cool but she's not the best Nancy we've had. Tim Treakle Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/25 Full Review KellyChristy C I absolutely hate how they wrote her as so bishy. Unnecessary curse words and unrealistic amounts of anger. Made her whole character unlikeable and really didn't care if she was attacked. I shut it off. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/19/25 Full Review Ken K !!!!!!!!POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!!!!! I'm not going to go on and on about the film. Yes there are clichès and so on. But it's very clever and filmed quite well. The way the characters interact with each other. The way it makes you feel like a typical film. Then they twist it just a bit to keep you just wanting to see what's next. But yes I would definitely recommend this film to anyone. I would even rewatch it myself w/friends.!!!!!!!POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!!!! Just have issue with the why after stabbing him after all that. Why not go back to the police car? If you couldn't drive it at least you at had the radio for help, but to run??? It was all filmed great and had you in the moment. But even still that's the one thing that sticks with me, why run? But again would recommend and rewatch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/13/25 Full Review Tyler B Can't help but feel the concept misses the mark characters have been cliche but it's well shot Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/29/24 Full Review Read all reviews
