Last to Die is far from a perfect horror entry, but it finds its niche by leaning into the pulpy thrills of the genre. Go to Full Review

TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Dec 12 Last to Die is a horror film with a promising premise, an intriguing hook, and even a poster that suggests something fresh for 2025, but the movie collapses almost immediately under the weight of its execution. The screenplay feels like a faint memory of the plot it advertises, never building the tension or cohesion that the concept deserves. The direction is even more disastrous, marked by sound mixing so poor you’re forced to crank the volume just to understand the opening lines. The cinematography and lighting make the film look distractingly grainy, stripping scenes of any atmosphere they could’ve had. Nothing feels intentional; it’s as if the director shot without reviewing a single frame. What could’ve been a gripping new horror entry becomes a frustrating, disorganized mess that never honors its own potential. See more Meghin W Nov 22 The sound engineering on the voiceovers is irritatingly bad. The soundtrack is mostly cheesy and bad. The acting is BAD. Considering how bad the script is, that may not be entirely the fault of the cast. I fast-forwarded after 20 minutes of the worst slow-drama I've seen in a long time to see how bad the bad guy was gonna be. Oh ya. SOOOO bad. Nothing like a big clunky rubber creature with lights for eyes to make a movie with no redeeming qualities worse. The storyline is an ancient trope about sacrifice to a monster in an old village so people can live forever. I'm all for a low-budget horror but it's rare I've ever wished I could get my time back. In summary, it's bad. See more Read all reviews
