The numerous plot lines and characters are handled well and the ending certainly gets its point across. Never holding back on the violence, Le Banquet is certainly not for the faint of heart. Suggestion: regarder Polytechnique au lieu du Banquet qui est impeccable et drolement plus frappant. This film looks at the problems of high tuition fees in our Canadian universities and the fact that many universities are allowing anyone to enter regardless of their academic background in a attempt to cash in on those who drop out early. The story shows students who take matters into their own hands and fight the universities through striking and protesting due to high tuition fees and finally the sad conclusion brought forth by one student who felt the university had ripped him off.
