Audience Member The Little World of Don Camillo is a brilliant movie and a masterpiece. Released at the beggining of the Cold War, it shows how profound political differences can and must be overcome in the most crucial moments and how in the end we are all the same; all this in a light and comic context, underlined and amplified by a sublime performance by Fernandel and Cervi, in the role of Don Camillo e Peppone, sorrounded by well-written and well-acted secondary characters. This movie amuses, moves and makes you think; despite its narration of a post WWII Italy, poor, tired and divided, in the end it manages to warm your heart like very few other pictures. The Little World of Don Camillo is a modern fairy tale, relevant now as ever, and is the first movie of a saga that deserves all the public and critical acclaim it had in Europe and that deserves to be now know in the rest of the world Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Successfully transfers Guareschi's novel to the screen - nothing sensational, but worth watching Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member French comedy set in the Italian small town where a communist party leader and a Catholic priest, Peppone and Don Camillo, act as references or political and social stand points. A hilarious concept well interpreted by the talented cast, this film was destined to become the first of many in one of the most acknowledged European comedy serials. The comedy does not disregard the social background, and in that sense, it is intelligently aware as well as genuinely entertaining. Fernandel and Gino Cervi are simply delightful. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Toute la série des Don Camillo sont les meilleurs films de Fernandel. J'aurais même mis 6 étoiles sur ces films!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member The Best of italian humor ....
