Bryce R If you are a Christian and or a fan of the Left Behind series, than this movie is absolutely for you! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/20/24 Full Review Rainbows R About ninety-nine per cent of people will judge the film based on their take of the message. I watched with an open mind and no antipathy to the Christian message. I think it is a fair and balanced portrayal of the world-view of some Christian evangelists, in particular the lead actor, and that a competent job was done by everyone involved on a limited budget. Ask yourself, if this movie were about witches or demon possession, would everyone overlook the shortcomings that really have to do with the low budget? I have to ask, does it really matter that there are no big expensive special effects or that there are some inconsistencies or moments that could have been edited in a different manner? Not really. Ultimately, the message comes through. You do not have to compare it to the big Hollywood blockbusters. Some things you have to accept. I think it is really hilarious how the critics love to hate this little film when there are ten thousand films no better, that they treasure as hidden gems, but are not about Christianity. Look at the horror genre and how accepting people are of low budget. Is there a small inconsistency, a certain hypocrisy going on? Demons OK, Bible bad? I enjoyed the movie and feel like the people in it were sincere. In this day and age, it may seem foreign or strange to actually believe in something, but it can be refreshing to watch a drama about people that actually believe in something other than money, sex and drugs, which is the Hollywood religion being promoted today. I plan to watch the sequel next. I will give the version with Nicholas Cage a miss. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/08/23 Full Review Read all reviews
