Critics Consensus

Despite a solid cast and intermittent thrills, Legion suffers from a curiously languid pace, confused plot, and an excess of dialogue.

Keith Uhlich Time Out Call it Assault on Manger 13. Rated: 3/5 Nov 17, 2011 Full Review Perri Nemiroff Perri Nemiroff (YouTube) Swallowed up by its effort to be a film of multiple genres. The only genre it earns a place in is comedy; it achieves an amount of unwarranted laughs of biblical proportions. Rated: 2/5 Sep 13, 2010 Full Review Robbie Collin News of the World Ah well. purrfectly w This movie was such a good time - a dark apocalyptic style movie with the ages old battle between heaven and hell, literally and biblically. Cast with the perfect set of strangers, who all end up at the same diner with their own drama and stories. Love these types of scripts, they can be so much fun when written right and I loved this cast of misfits. I love that the whole move is set in a diner, of course in the middle of nowhere. it gives the perfect creepy vibe from some of the old school horror movies I've grown up with. The characters are perfectly written and cast, the actors crush it in the best way, and I love the assortment of demons that eventually come.. especially the ice cream man with the long arms and razor claws.. and then we have the sweet old lady that turns feral climbing on ceilings, she is such a treat lol Great watch for anyone who loves a great cast and a great story line of our favourite type of thriller movies .. good vs evil. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/03/25 Full Review Gerald O Quasi-intellectual Old Testament style biblical nonsense and gobbledygook. No understanding or even concern what religious mumbo-jumbo it invents. It's just terminally stupid and Paul Bettany is terminally insufferable. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/16/25 Full Review Jun L Felt like the movie was made without a proper direction in mind, maybe the script writers were high when they wrote this, but this film was intriguing at the beginning and then it just nose-dived half way through when angels get brought into this, using guns and fighting hordes of monster/zombies/demons possessing humans, like this feels like such a D-rated movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/15/25 Full Review Edward F Theologically impossible. I'm a faithful Catholic, but I have to admit, it is an interesting concept. If it were possible, this would be a very cool story. So, hypothetically, I like this movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/16/25 Full Review Arlen B Better than the critics said. It had a good cast which always helps. Worth a watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/12/25 Full Review J M Overly gory, but diverting, hokum. Paul Bettany looks like he had a hoot making this - he acts circles around every else. But it often feels like a love letter to guns. Perhaps that's taking the film too seriously - which you absolutely shouldn't. File under watchable shyte. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/09/25 Full Review Read all reviews
