Meagan Navarro Bloody Disgusting While there's a lot of charm to be found, it's also sloppy in its world-building and doesn't give us anyone to truly root for. It doesn't feel like anything we haven't already seen before, either. Rated: 2.5/5 Dec 17, 2018 Full Review Tim Brayton Alternate Ending If your thing is watching a bunch of random teenagers get stuck in a cabin and killed one at a time, there are far, far worse examples than this. Rated: 2.5/5 Jun 27, 2022 Full Review Matthew Rozsa matthewrozsa.com As a serious horror flick - from scares and gore to actual story quality - this is easily the best "Leprechaun" movie. Rated: 3.5/4 Apr 20, 2021 Full Review Ryan Larson Ghastly Grinning I don't want to pull the wool over your eyes and declare Leprechaun Returns a masterpiece. It's not and I know that. However, it's some of the most fun you will have with a horror movie this year. Jun 24, 2020 Full Review Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh The one-liners and buckets of green blood are sure to elate devout fans of the franchise, though it offers little else to the uninitiated. Rated: 2/5 May 19, 2019 Full Review Kimberley Elizabeth Nightmare on Film Street ... our Leprechaun is resourceful as ever; plucking solar panels, hoses, drones, and harnessing his own brand of Gaelic magic to dispose of the eco-conscious tots. Craig W. Syfy did a great thing here, they movie is decent and funny Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/16/25 Full Review thiago s Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas de terror são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/22/25 Full Review Mason O Wait a minute this is peak cinema 8 out of 10 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/24/25 Full Review TheMovieSearch R Leprechaun Returns is a curious entry in the franchise. On one hand, it achieves something the later films struggled with: continuity. This eighth installment acknowledges the original 1993 film, bringing back Jennifer Aniston’s legacy through her daughter Leila and reintroducing Ozzie, which is a welcome nod to fans. For the first time in years, the series feels connected rather than disjointed, which is commendable. On the other hand, the leprechaun himself is not Warwick Davis. That absence is glaring. While the new actor isn’t terrible, he lacks the sinister charm and mischievous charisma that made Davis’ portrayal iconic. The character feels more grotesque than wickedly delightful, and it’s hard to fully engage with the story without the actor who defined the role. Replacing Davis in this franchise is akin to recasting Freddy Krueger—it simply doesn’t work. Despite that, the film makes some positive strides. It leans into continuity, respects elements of the original, and offers enough nostalgia to keep longtime fans invested. The plot is straightforward, the scares are serviceable, and the pacing keeps the story moving. Compared to Leprechaun Origins, this entry at least feels like it belongs in the series’ universe. However, the missing magic of Davis’ performance casts a shadow over everything. The character’s personality, wit, and playful malevolence are irreplaceable, and the film suffers because of it. You can see the effort to recapture the original tone, but the leprechaun himself doesn’t sell it. Overall, Leprechaun Returns is an improvement in terms of story continuity and respect for the original film, but it still falls short due to the casting choice. It’s watchable, and there’s enjoyment to be had, but it will never reach the heights of the original. In summary, this film found some footing by reconnecting with its roots, but the absence of Warwick Davis keeps it from truly succeeding. It’s a step forward in narrative, yet a step back in character authenticity. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/21/25 Full Review Audience Member it's officially been over 26 years since the original movie came out starring Jennifer Aniston! a lot has changed from sustaining natural resources to modern communications technology apart from Warwick Davis who made his debut as the titular villain in the original Mark Holton is the only returning cast member as survivor Ozzie after a slew of quality-declining sequels this direct-to-TV installment thankfully matches the spirit of the original thank goodness the new Leprechaun is played by newcomer Linden Porco who looks much more hellish this time around it's been years since his defeat in the well but the little Irish villain makes a comeback Tori Redding has passed away but her daughter, Lila arrives at the same house where the events of the first movie occurred to participate in a going-green project; solar panels and utilizing water but little do her and her friends know that the Leprechaun is lurking in the shadows he's got a whole new bag of tricks with a thirst for bloodshed to keep his pot of gold Porco is actually so much fun to watch as the resurrected Leprechaun providing more grisly deaths with a bit of comedy throw in as well these teens are pretty bad in the acting department as you'd imagine but they have enough silly lines to make the viewing enjoyable the girl who plays Lila is actually the most likable of the bunch since she has a strong tie to the Leprechaun's past and has struggled to make new friends without trying to lose them plus the fact that everyone thought her mother was insane claiming she survived the evil demonic elf before there's also plenty of callbacks to previous entries despite this being the actual-follow up to that first film some of the effects have a lot to be desired but keep in mind this is a direct-to-TV production so you can forgive them for most of it the ending is actually quite different than you'd expect, who knows if this devilish creature's work is done for sure whatever the case the past sequels just got worse and worse without any real consistency, not to mention that so-called reboot which was a HUGE step in the wrong direction it's such a sigh of relief that this time 'Leprechaun' has truly returned having a bit of classic elements as well as new ones Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/18/24 Full Review Joseph Tutorials 73% i enjoyed it when the leprechaun is on screen but the characters are really bad and the story is okay and i got used to the voice after a while it's just the characters are not good and have no character either Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
