Eric Y Sep 12 Loved it. When I was really depressed and staying with friends, I happened to watch it one day. I hate the effing horse track. It's all fixed. Knew a guy that destroyed himself betting on the ponies. Take a down on his luck loser and Dreyfus comes through. Being a student of film, this movie goes much deeper than most of the people are giving credit for. Richard Dreyfuss at his best. See more 11/23/2024 This is a decent film. 30% seems kind of unfair. Almost like the critics thought they deserved a mind boggling unforgettable experience about the psychology of a gambler or something. What this movie really is, is charming. It’s get funny characters, oddly good cinematography, and some pretty well acted scenes. I also love how everyone fell in love with him throughout the movie, kinda like “The Terminal” where Viktor wins over everyone at the airport. 3.5/5 stars, pretty darn decent.
