Rich S It's Swedish, it's simple, and it doesn't contain the vampire lust/love story about characters that even Twilight's biggest fans can't get fully behind. Let the Right One In is more of a buddy story. And it works. It's got a lot of the vampire lore that makes a blood-sucking story work and it has actors that are good enough to execute onscreen. Roger Ebert pointed me to this film through his review on "Twilight" and I would have to say that he did me right. It's unfair to say Let the Right One In is twice as good as Twilight. I think it's more than 2 1/2 times better and my rating shows it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/05/24 Full Review Christopher M One of the best vampire movies ever made...period. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/01/24 Full Review Lisa L This is not a horror film. It's a teen vampire drama, and an awful one at that Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/26/24 Full Review xldw 6 A literary film full of poetry under the guise of a heavy taste. Under the cold and long snowy night, there is calm and stern photography. Even in the killing scenes, there is no fast editing, but rather solemn long shots. The ending pool scene is extremely beautiful. The soundtrack is sparse but majestic and desolate. The details are rich and implicit, giving people unlimited room for imagination - the eternal loneliness and wandering of vampires. This is the first time I have seen a horror film that is so bone-chilling yet heartwarming. I am deeply moved.
