Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Some loose laughs, a bold premise and a particularly amusing turn by the always-welcome Patrick Wilson make this indie trifle more watchable than not. Jan 8, 2015 Full Review Justin Chang Variety [A] torturously unfunny exercise, which doesn't even rise to the level of competent misogyny ... Jan 8, 2015 Full Review Chris Packham Village Voice The film is as vacuous and undeserving of regard as any of its characters. Jan 7, 2015 Full Review Paul Chambers Movie Chambers Acting is routine with (Patrick) Wilson the only standout. His deadpan hostility generates most, if not all, of the laughs. Rated: C- Mar 10, 2015 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com A one-joke effort that wears out its welcome as it struggles to dream up new misunderstandings to organize and macabre antics to choreograph. porcelain d This movie has been sitting on my watchlist for Prime Video for a while and I finally decided to watch it. I was skeptical at first but gave it a chance because of the All Star cast. It was a pretty decent movie to watch but I think would have been interesting more if everyone had of actually played their married couples roles as in real life (Scott/Marika, Patrick/Dagmara, Amy/James). For some odd reason, I think Donald Faison should have been the friend (Ronnie) that was the Bachelor and in some twisted way the mastermind of "Killing Ward's Wife". It had a few good laughs; a nosey cop neighbor who I think could have been a second kill or the scapegoat; an antagonist that I didn't care for and was okay with her death; and a somewhat "Happy Ending" for all parties involved (miraculously no one got caught). It was a dark comedy that I didn't take too serious and got a few laughs from. It had potential to be something great like "The Horror of Dolores Roach" or "Santa Clarita Diet", which both respectfully came out years later. I guess they took note to develop better. Again not a bad watch, just don't have high expectations or take it too serious; it's a dark comedy movie 😂. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/07/24 Full Review Sandra B Absurd plot but the actors are really good. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/31/23 Full Review Lisa C Hilarious! Not only did I LOVE the cast, the movie's great-it's light (in a really dark way). It's not supposed to be a deep self reflective movie so the not great reviews are equally laughable. I definitely recommend watching Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/08/23 Full Review Kevin W I can think of 10 ways for the movie to end that would have been better. It had something good going for it but wasted on any and all opportunities to make it worth while. There really wasn't much of a conflict to resolve, which made it quite boring. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/05/23 Full Review Audience Member You can watch it, just don’t expect to laugh much 2.2 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/17/23 Full Review Kyla H I loved the honesty of the characters and the humor that didn't need more than dialogue. Great movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
