Matthew G Nov 27 I watched Light Up at the premiere in Atlanta, and I enjoyed it so much. Ryan Ashley Lowery put together something special here. He could have played it safe, but instead he chose to spotlight voices that deserve more attention. The stories are genuine and moving without being overdone. You should definitely check it out. Shout out to the cast for being so brave with telling their stories. I’m looking forward to the second installment. The sneak peak has me really excited. See more Diana N. P Oct 27 Oh my goodness! I watched this at 3:30 AM thinking I might fall asleep like I usually do when I watch movies in the middle of the night and would have to watch the rest later, and what I can tell you is I laughed, I cried, I got mad at society and was yelling out loud in my bed at 4:00 in the morning lol! It was so compelling, powerful , beautiful, poignant, and inspiring! I absolutely loved every story. I already adore Octavius Terry, but can I tell you I literally fell in love with every one of the beautiful souls depicted in this movie! It was absolutely beautiful to walk through their lives with them and hear their struggles, pain, triumphs, and their capacity to rise in spite of the societal and religious opinions of others. To the writers and producers, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for sharing this MASTERPIECE with the world!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 See more Leonard H Oct 23 This documentary was amazing! Salute to everyone who shared their stories and experiences. This documentary equips me and reminds me as a parent it’s beyond important for children to know that they have your unconditional love and support without judgement. Creating safe spaces for your children to thrive not just survive is key. This world is full of challenges and doubts, one should never be a parent’s love for their child. Special shoutout to Benjamin Carlton for always being a visionary, a voice, and a leader of leaders. See more Shaud T Oct 22 Light Up is one of the most powerful and emotionally charged films I’ve ever experienced. From start to finish, it radiates truth, creativity, and resilience in a way that reaches deep into your heart. It’s not just something you watch — it’s something you feel. This film captures the strength of the human spirit in its rawest form — the pain, the healing, and the transformation that comes from never giving up. Every story, every moment, every visual is a reminder that even in our darkest times, there’s always a spark waiting to rise. I found myself reflecting, crying, and ultimately feeling inspired to see the light in my own journey. It’s a rare kind of storytelling — one that connects us all through shared humanity and hope. If you’ve ever felt broken, lost, or unsure of your next step, this film will remind you that you’re not alone — and that your light still matters. 🌟 Every person should watch Light Up. It’s not just a documentary; it’s an experience that heals, empowers, and transforms. #LightUpTheWorld ✨ See more George M @Gmanhn22 Oct 22 I think this is a great story about humans losing and finding their way in life, all while navigating fear, hate, self love, and determination.
