A tale of a young girl's close encounter with the galaxy's most wanted extraterrestrial. Lilo is a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly "dog," whom she names Stitch. Stitch would be the perfect pet if he weren't in reality a genetic experiment who has escaped from an alien planet and crash-landed on Earth. Through her love, faith and unwavering belief in ohana, the Hawaiian concept of family, Lilo helps unlock Stitch's heart and gives him the ability to care for someone else.

Nell Minow Common Sense Media Cute story, great characters, fabulous soundtrack. Rated: 4/5 Dec 25, 2010 Full Review Ted Shen Chicago Reader Smart, poignant, and utterly beguiling. Nov 16, 2009 Full Review Richard Corliss TIME Magazine It's a bright, engaging bauble with half a dozen Elvis Presley songs for Mom and Dad, and just enough sass -- Stitch sticks his tongue into his nose and eats his snot -- to keep the tweeners giggling. Sep 2, 2008 Full Review Carson Timar ButteredPopcorn There is no doubt that Lilo & Stitch is a masterpiece. With some of the best character work ever seen in animation, a fantastic cast, and a real emotional core, the film is everything one could want in a film. Jan 23, 2023 Full Review Rebecca Long Inverse Beneath its absurdity, Lilo & Stitch captures what it feels like to yearn for belonging and to struggle to be understood. Rated: A Jul 29, 2022 Full Review Cory Woodroof 615 Film One of the most insanely creative things Disney has ever put out, hand-stitched with so much love that it’s nearly bursting at the seams. Dominic C My family's favorite movie to watch together Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/25 Full Review Michael Z In the decade between 1999 and 2009, Walt Disney Animation Studios was in a creative rut. The studio's films often found themselves in the shadow of their younger, sleeker sister studio, Pixar. The films that Pixar released during this era are instantly recognizable, while almost all of the films that Disney's original animation studio produced during this era faded into obscurity, forgotten instantly by a fast-changing world. There is, however, one definitive exception. Nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, grossing $273 million against a budget of $80 million, and spawning a years-long media franchise that is still well-remembered to this day, the film Lilo & Stitch (2002) is a gem that shines brightly within Disney's lost decade. Lilo & Stitch is, of course, written so that kids may enjoy it, but underneath the family-friendly veneer are unexpectedly dark themes of existentialism, grief, and socioeconomic hardship that are clearly also targeted towards older audiences. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/25 Full Review Samuel W Lilo & Stitch has always been and always will be one of the best Disney animated movies of all time. Its animation is beautiful, the storyline is very well-done, all the characters are carefully created with clear intent, and it is just an overall heartwarming story of love, kindness, and change. It is fun for the entire family and just a goofy retelling of classic alien stories from the past. This franchise then became a symbol of peace, joy and happiness seen by the entire world. Safe to say, ohana has never felt so good before now. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/01/25 Full Review matthias s *Lilo & Stitch* is one of those Disney gems that’s just pure fun and heart. I didn’t watch it much as a kid (I was more into the series), but watching it now, I get why Stitch became such an icon. He’s chaotic in the best way, and I couldn’t stop smiling. The humor is spot-on, the charm is undeniable, and the Hawaiian setting gives it a vibe that’s so unique compared to other Disney films. The soundtrack? Absolute perfection. If you love Elvis, you’ll love how his music is sprinkled throughout—it adds so much personality. Sure, the plot is simple (alien meets little girl, chaos and bonding ensue), but the execution is where it shines. The emotional beats hit hard without being over-the-top. It’s got that classic Disney magic: heart, humor, and just the right amount of weird. A perfect feel-good watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/01/25 Full Review Audience Member This was my first time watching it . I wanted to see it when I saw the teaser live action trailer in theaters . I really love the animation. It was so funny. Lilo sister reactions to things happening was hilarious. When I went to Disney World back in the early 2000s I actually rode the Lilo and Stitch ride . 9/10 it's a great Disney animated movie and I didn't expect it to be this hilarious.
