Huge Chrome P An incomprehensible drug addled mess. Despite it's good qualities it's lack of a cohesive narrative and unlikable cast puts a huge damper on the entertainment one can derive from Liquid Sky. Rated 2/5 Stars •  Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Liquid Sky warrants repeated viewings to understand and appreciate. I absolutely hated it on my first viewing, but was taken by the beautiful shots of the city and the neon signs that decorate the heroine's apartment, so I watched it again. The dialogue also intrigued and amused me, and I ended up watching it four times in a weekend. Now, it is one of my favorites of all-time. Prepare yourself for the fact that the lead character will be subjected to sexual violence; it is critical to her story. It's now 40 years since the movie was filmed...it captures an interesting point in time in New York where its sex and drugs culture is subjected to a twisted science fiction experience. If you can get past the low budget nature of it, there's quite a bit to dissect in it. Dealing with themes of female repression and the links between sex and drugs. It's a gonzo movie you're not soon to forget.
