Although I'm not sure whether the effect will last. As someone said somewhere, it is a thinking man's horror movie up to a certain point but then again it's also a bunch of other things -- including gore and a number of plot twists which one may have trouble relating to. A positive experience nonetheless, so go ahead and give it a shot (!). Rated 4/5 Stars •  Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member let me start by saying that the movie isn't perfect. the acting seems a bit cheesy and unbelievable at times. but despite the minor nuances, the movie has a lot to offer as it crawls towards weirdness and some nice twists to keep you locked in to the closing moments. in a nutshell, the main protagonist suffers job loss and has to relocate his family to and old house in Wisconsin as a result. however that would prove to be the least of their concerns. this one will require some thought to piece together a few things and there is some nice moments of gore and atmospheric elements that are genuinely eerie. I only continued watching because I saw nipples in the first 5 minutes of the film. I would deconstruct its rather problematic racial and gender underpinnings, if not for the fact that only a few people have seen, and will ever see, this flick.
