J. R. Jones Chicago Reader This has its sappy moments, but both women give wonderfully detailed performances, aided by Michael Learned as Hunt's mother and Chris Sarandon as the calm, cold minister. Jun 28, 2022 Full Review Sean P. Means Film.com The dramatic tension is nil. But the performances, particularly by Hunt (in a non-comedic role, for a change), are worth a look. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 3, 2006 Full Review Marjorie Baumgarten Austin Chronicle ... if you can shake out some of the chafing bits of sand that weigh down Loggerheads, you'll find a heartfelt story about people coming to terms with irrevocable loss. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 15, 2006 Full Review Steven Lindsey Texas Triangle/TXT If there's one thing writer Tim Kirkman does extraordinarily well, it's creating complex, layered characters. Rated: 3/4 May 8, 2023 Full Review David Lamble Bay Area Reporter Loggerheads proceeds at a turtle's pace. At times, you feel like you're sitting in the preacher's house, with its well-starched tablecloth and hymns for all occasions. Audience Member Emotionally captivating and beautifully told story that any person (gay or straight) should see with their parent(s), whether adopted or biological. The movie tells its story in 3 parts simultaneously, set a couple years apart each. The slow build is as beautiful as the scenery. Easily one of the best indies I've ever seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member A meandering tone that unfolds delicately with a cast to compliment it. 23/8/2013 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review anthony b A decent little Indy film, but nothing to rush out to rent. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Deft interweaving of 3 connected stories, deeply moving Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie was compelling and real. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Tim Kirkman, the director, whom I've worked with countless times on television productions, has such a wonderful little movie here. It's a very subtle. Believable performances. I liked it quite a bit! Well done, Tim haha Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
