Andrew L. Urban Urban Cinefile Made for US TV by expat Aussie director Brian Trenchard-Smith (who made his movie bones with Ozploitation films in the 70s), and written by Aussie Richard Blade, Long Lost Son is an economically crafted drama driven by intrigue. Audience Member I want that 1 1/2 of my life back. What crap. The acting was wooden. The story line had such potential but I ended up hating the mother character, the victim in many ways, and rooting for the shark that I hoped would end the horrid plotline. I honestly can't understand why anyone would give this monumental waste of time a good review. I go away from it feeling somehow cheated and insulted. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member good overall-but the finish was really undramatic-unarousing. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member This was a crap drama movie. Another child abduction story only this time from ocean caribean. From the start to half way was good to watch but later on became silly, ended badly and the ozi hotel recepionist showed poor quality acting. Predictable too. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Arghh what a laborious effort this was! Straight to the nutshell. Uninspiring performances, really could not care about any character because frankly they had no character. Weak story, truly there is so much emotional fragility that could have been dealt with. There was a the thrill of chase, the temptation of a friend, the unknown in a lost love. Non of which were effectively if at all touched upon. The storyline was not a lost a cause. Disgruntled ex-husband who believes his sun is being taken away from him takes matters into his own hands in kidnapping his son and faking their deaths. Only for the ex-wife to discover 14 years later they are still alive, and she knows precisely where to find them! Unfortunately all was butchered and sitting through this film was worse than sitting through Neighbours then Home & Away. Apparently made for US TV wish it stayed there! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member A good film. Not bad. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member GREAT LMN MOVIE.
