Claudio C @Claudio666 Oct 29 Los debutantes (2003) Three Perspectives for the Same Story (12,025 – 29 Oct 2025– by Claudio Carvalho) Silvio (Néstor Cantillana) and his brother Victor (Juan Pablo Miranda) moved from a small town to Santigo after the death of their mother. On Victor’s seventeenth anniversary, Silvio celebrates his birthday in a sleazy nightclub. Victor has a crush on the hot stripper Gracia (Antonella Ríos), who is the mistress of the owner Don Pascual (Alejandro Trejo), When Silvio controls a client with a gun in the nightclub, Don Pascual hires him to be his chauffeur and in charge of some errands. But the problem is when Silvio falls in love with Gracia. “Los debutantes” (2003) is a Chilean low-budget movie with three perspectives for the same story. The noirish and erotic styles are a plus in the plot, but the character Victor is too silly and the pivot the for the disappointing conclusion. In addition, Juan Pablo Miranda performing as a teenager is tough. Antonella Ríos steals the show with three different performances of the same character in addition to her beautiful and sexy body. Unfortunately, the budget seems to have finish and the rushed conclusion is very disappointing. My vote is six. See more 07/18/2010 Two brothers (Nestor Cantillana) and Victor (Juan Pablo Miranda) arrive in Santiago from a small town. They both gain the favours of Gracia, an exotic dancer. Unfortunately she is the property of the local gangster boss. Quite clearly no good will come of this. There are three parts to the movie, of increasing complexity, as first we concentrate on the younger brother’s perspective, then the older: and finally that of the girl. Really competent gangster movie which has been compared to those of Tarentino – although it’s actually not that violent. Some odd bits – sometimes the flashbacks seemed a bit random, and I was occasionally nonplussed with some eccentric sub-titles. We see quite a lot of the toothsome Gracia (Antonella Rios), certainly enough to remind me (and I increasingly need reminding) that I much prefer Chileans to Brazilians.
