No description whatsoever for this film, so here we go. A group of teens find themselves in an inn, where they decide to spend the night and party, where a teen boy died 15 years earlier during a prank gone wrong. Someone or something then starts to kill off the teens at the inn. First things first, this movie is incredibly short. With credits it runs at 68 minutes, so without credits it runs at 64-65 minutes. So, at the very least, this is a movie that does not overstay its welcome in the least. I think it barely gets going by the time it's over. With that said, the movie being so short means that the deaths start pretty much immediately, so there's little time to actually develop the characters. They do try some character development, but it's so minimal that it doesn't really make much of a difference in the long run. You don't actually care about any of the characters. Though I doubt if they had more time that they would've done more to make you care about the characters. It's all about the blood and the gore. The movie having a low-budget, obviously, means that the blood and gore itself isn't good at all. Though there's one cool death where someone, with her brain exposed, starts poking it and discovers a pleasure point and she pretty much fingers her brain and orgasms herself to death. I'd say this is a really cool and inventive death but, at the same time, there's a feeling of deja vu, like I've seen this type of death somewhere before. I can honestly swear that I've seen a death similar to this one somewhere, I just can't place as to where I have seen it. With that said, it's still a pretty unique death, no matter who came up with it, for a genre that mostly recycles them. I think that's honestly the only good thing about this movie, and its brief running time. I can come up with something else that I liked, but it'd make me look bad since it actually has nothing to do with the quality of the film, so I won't even bother to mention it. I suppose that the third act, after the two leads leave the inn, was better than the first two as it's actually the only one with any semblance of suspense rather than just straight off killing teens. And the ending itself, while not exactly original, is fairly decent. I just can't get over the fact that the first two acts were really terrible. Like there's no real reason for any of it this to be happening, it's just happening because someone decided to make a horror movie. It's a slasher for the sake of one. While I had my problems with the Scream franchise, at least they felt like they had a reason for existing. This one falls along the line of existing just because. There are many derivative horror films that end up being entertaining, there was no reason this one couldn't have been either, but there was just no real effort put into this, in my opinion. It feels cobbled together from a variety of different sources and films without nearly the same impact. Yes, it's short, but that doesn't make it any less terrible. This film is titled Bloody April Fools, since it takes place on the Spanish equivalent of April Fools day on Netflix, if you're curious. I wouldn't recommend it, though. It's not bad-funny, it's just regular bad.

Although in Spanish, still the same old slash thingy. Luckily short enough.
