Lost Transmissions is a clear-eyed view of schizophrenia, aided by a powerful Simon Pegg performance yet hamstrung by some woolly filmmaking and a whiff of pretension. Go to Full Review

It's too much. It's cringeworthy. It's profoundly hammy. But a smarter film could have hidden it better. Go to Full Review

Temple and Pegg, when their characters aren't falling apart (and even sometimes when they are), convey intelligence and mutual regard with refreshing straightforwardness. Go to Full Review

The kind of gritty, naturalistic type of film that seldom gets made anymore. Go to Full Review

[Juno] Temple and [Simon] Pegg are very talented in other movies, but watching them trying to create chemistry together that doesn't exist in Lost Transmissions is almost painful to watch. Go to Full Review

The lack of attention to detail comes from a script which is more interested in its political message than in believable world-building. Go to Full Review

john h Jun 1 A psychedelic, mind-fogging trip on the basis of mental health. Simon Pegg's powerful performance proves that he is not just an actor for comedy but for all genres and Juno Temple leaves a lasting impression on her final moments on screen, beautifully portraying the path of Rubicon. It is a belief of mine that directors who stick to certain genres forever are less explorative, and directors that are called pretentious are braver in discovering more possibilities in emotional aspects and filmmaking. See more DPC 06/26/2023 Yet another pegg vanity project that no one has ever heard of or could care even about, can someone just tell him to stop now please See more steve d 12/05/2022 its cast is waisted in a film that never seems to know what it wants to be. See more 07/24/2020 The movie started strong, with beautiful colour and camera work, however, as the story went on, it started to lose its way. The ending felt unfinished and lost its chance to leave a lesson or strong impression. The acting was phenomenal. I cannot think of a way for the actors to approach their characters mental illness better it's just a shame the story didn't do the same justice. Lots of potential just could have used a bit longer to create a stronger ending. See more 06/30/2020 Lost Transmissions is one of the best & brilliantly well acted films on metal health, I have ever seen in recent years. with a moving story & especially the performances from Simon Pegg as record producer Theo Ross & Juno Temple as shy singer Hannah. highly recommended. 4/5. :) See more Read all reviews
