Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times For anyone who's not a Francophone tween girl, the film likely will be a tedious, precious exercise in indulgence. Apr 23, 2015 Full Review Patrick Peters Empire Magazine Quirky and kitsch but this tween flick doesn't quite hang together. Rated: 2/5 Mar 13, 2015 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian It's a commercial French picture of the kind that generally doesn't cross the Channel well: a bit DayGlo, a bit cutesy, a bit fey. Rated: 2/5 Mar 12, 2015 Full Review Tracy Moore Common Sense Media Quirky French subtitled film about growing up has profanity. Rated: 3/5 Nov 3, 2015 Full Review Stefan Pape HeyUGuys By the time Lou! has finished you feel like you've downed an entire packet of popping candy and washed it down with cherryade. susan p I love Allison Janney so I wanted to love this movie. It was so bad. Her acting is great as always, the fight scenes were really good. The other acting and story line, bad. It's so slow. I could barely get through it. Still love Janney and always will. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member As someone who didnt grow up with the delightfully quirky comic, the live-action movie is a wonderful way to dive into the world of Lou!. The movie itself is much like a teenage version of Amelia. Some of the actors are a bit stiff but the antics of the rest of the cast more then make up for it. Overall, the movie is a fun-filled, whimsical and light, which if you let it, will put a smile on your face. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member the best movie ever made Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Teen version of Amelie, but so stuffed with whimsy and cute camera quirks that it overlooks the necessity for a decent story featuring anything meaningful.
