I can't say it was fun but I enjoyed this. It was hilarious, in a low key sort of way, Some unexpectedly beautiful moments amongst the visual drek. I suspect I would have "gotten" more of the references if I had known more about the original Louise Michel.

If the French made a live action Family Guy episode about an out of work textile worker and an inept hitman then this would be it. Some very funny moments along with some decided misses.

The directors of this dark comedy seem to have insisted on having quirky focal points in almost every scene. Admittedly these are highly original and it is quite a feat that they sustain it, except that it totally obliterates any sense of the overall serious message I think they were hoping to make. Something about capitalism and the plight of the worker? All very relevant and all lost, sadly. I think the French are in a rut churning out these kinds of oddball things, the same way the Brits can't leave alone the cockney gangster.
