Todd C One of the sappiest romance movies ever. The script is terrible and I have a hard time thinking these actors didn't have a hard time keeping a straight face while saying the lines they were forced to say. Not that movies have to be believable, but there is no believable part of the plot. This felt so much like a Nicholas Sparks film that I stopped it to check at one point. The actual plot could of been interesting, a soldier leaving Viet Nam during R&R to come back to the states and get his girl back. This could of been a good idea, but the sappy romance angle didn't work. Very predictable. I am calling it the worst war movie I have ever seen. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/24 Full Review Morden O Yet another tired tale of chasing after someone that isn't worth it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/23/23 Full Review Crazy_clay78YT It was a really emotional and moving story and (minor spoiler alert) They end up kinda switching roles, without being too specific Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/10/22 Full Review Audience Member Really enjoyed this movie. Liked the BS lines of Thor's brother. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Maybe good those who were to young to remember Vietnam but this is typical repetitive script for all others. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/12/21 Full Review Audience Member I would rather put sand in my eyes than have the displeasure of watching this movie again. One start is being very generous, since this movie from the beginning to the end was just a vietnam version of the also terrible movie "Pearl Harbor". I wen't in to this aware that it had some love story and some drama and stuff in it but holy fuck did i underestimate the power of a shitty writer... shitty director... shitty actor. You have to have zero knowledge of politics and the law to see this movie and not laugh your ass off at how stupid and far fetched this movie is. I thought my hate for Vince Vaughn was bad but the whole cast for this is even a little bit worse than him. I would like a new television because i hosed mine down after having seen such terrible shit on it. You outdid yourself, Palmer. Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times "Love and Honor" suffices as old-fashioned, pie-in-the-sky entertainment. Mar 27, 2013 Full Review Lou Lumenick New York Post "Love and Honor'' may be politically clueless, but Hemsworth and the student journalist he hooks up with (fellow Aussie Teresa Palmer of "Warm Bodies'') do make an undeniably attractive couple. Rated: 1.5/4 Mar 22, 2013 Full Review Nicolas Rapold New York Times This trifle about two soldiers who sneak away to America while on leave unfolds in a world about as realistic as a flashback on a sitcom. Rated: 1/5 Mar 21, 2013 Full Review Brent Simon Shockya.com A well meaning but essentially dopey period piece film that tries with increasingly diminishing effectiveness to meld an anti-war message with Nicholas Sparks-type romance. Rated: C- Apr 3, 2013 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue The attempt at gritty period re-creation seems half-hearted and unconvincing, the screenplay is strictly formula, and most of the primary actors have done better work elsewhere. Mar 29, 2013 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International Totally bogus anti-war film, set in a 1969 that bears no resemblance to any actual period. Mar 22, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews
