While this romantic tragedy involving two young creative professionals has some original ideas and an attractive setting, the genre has been done before in much more authentic and engaging ways. Go to Full Review

While there are some clear emotional moments in Love Like the Falling Petals, the dull nature of its commentary and the stunting of Misaki make it hard to view as a successful love story. Go to Full Review

Love Like the Falling Petals is buoyant, and then it’s blehh. Even the accidental comedy can’t make up for the bad taste it leaves in your mouth. Go to Full Review

Due F Dec 1 Love Like the Falling Petals unfolds a gentle yet heartbreaking romance between two dream-chasers whose blossoming love is shaken by Misaki’s rare illness that rapidly ages her, forcing them to confront time slipping away. Despite its medically unrealistic premise, the film delivers moving moments through strong performances, tender direction, and vivid spring-like visuals that amplify both hope and grief. It ultimately becomes a poignant story about sincerity, acceptance, and loving beyond physical changes or the limits of time. Some people may think that they didn't know each other long enough however from what I understand, relationships in Japan progress a lot quicker than they do in the US and many other countries. A lot of Japanese relationships are focused on getting married (especially with the women). Even at that, I've known people that got married after around a month of being together, and have stayed together for decades now. It is possible! Had to destroy that aspect of the "professional critics" reviews on it. The scenery is very beautiful. Amazing shots, beautiful music, great characters, and amazing acting. Such a beautiful movie. I recommend to all who truly love cinema and story. God bless you all! See more 03/25/2022 A good movie with a tear-jerking ending. It's like the Curious case of Benjamin Button but reverse. Pretty good. See more Read all reviews
