The best thing Love, Simon did for queer media was pave the way for Love, Victor, its superior spinoff series...nevertheless, the latter wouldn’t exist without the former, and for that, I will always hold a soft spot in my heart for Berlanti’s adaptation.

It feels like a lot of earlier movies with queer protagonists were very misguided and stereotyped. Love, Simon speaks to its audience a lot better in that area.
