Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle [Ryan] Prows also has a more deft and adroit handling of race relations in modern America. While Tarantino has always tackled race head-on, if often with too blunt a tool, Lowlife manages to feed in more subtlety. Rated: 3/5 Apr 19, 2018 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com The climax is suitably violent, and I honestly love the fact that Prows keeps the blood and gore to a minimum. Rated: 3/4 Apr 18, 2018 Full Review Nick Allen RogerEbert.com A shallow exercise in nastiness, contriving different ways that people can be cruel to each other. Rated: 2/4 Apr 6, 2018 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed Lowlife is there to remind Hollywood that there are plenty good, entertaining films left to be made before more remakes should be pumped out. It's an original story with a familiar style that works great. Rated: 4/5 Apr 12, 2020 Full Review Joey Keogh Wicked Horror The story, slight as it is, hooks you in from the outset and doesn't let go as it hops all over L.A's seediest spots, rubbing our noses in the dirt. Rated: 8/10 Oct 1, 2019 Full Review Carolyn Mauricette Cinema Axis It's a must-see for its wonderfully original story and equally memorable characters. May 16, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Michael J Many reviewers say it’s like a Tarantino movie maybe because the bad guy looks like Tarantino (which I found hilarious)… but it does feel like a Tarantino movie. I liked it. It’s a low budget film but doesn’t feel that way. Storyline connects well at the end. Overall recommended Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/15/24 Full Review kevin c This is not your everyday crime movie.  Centers around a crime boss with an organ harvesting scheme that does not exactly go as planned.
Filled with eccentric characters such as a motel manager, a small time criminal, a recently released prisoner and a luchador.
There are some genuinely funny moments in this movie and some brutal bursts of violence.
Very different from the usual crime flick.
Worth a look. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Comedy? This nasty piece of sub-Tarantino crap makes Tarantino himself look like a master of philanthropy. The trope of showing us how low the scum of the earth can sink, so we can then vicariously join in their gut-spattered come-uppance was considered putrid when Bronson and Winner were peddling their Death Wish movies over 40 years ago. Tarantino gets away with the same repulsive scenario over and over because he once possessed immense promise, now squandered, and he mercilessly bullies anyone who questions his omniscience. Now his imitators can show him there are many more fathoms to explore before we hit rock bottom. It's a shame: there's talent involved here, most of it wasted, most of it doomed to remain unwitnessed by anyone without a strong stomach or who possesses a moral compass. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretty much a perfect B-movie. Ridiculous but well cast, well acted, well written and darkly funny. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review mike s If you like Pulp Fiction you might like it but only watched about 30 minutes and packed in there. Gory start and odd characters.
