Nick Schager House Next Door Reflects on issues of remembrance, life, and death with a heartfelt lyricism bordering on affectation. Jan 21, 2011 Full Review Jeffrey Overstreet Image It was a poem before it was a movie. Thus it makes sense that the film works more like poetry than prose. And there is fear, mystery, and majesty burning in every scene. Rated: A Jan 27, 2012 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Lee Isaac Chung's second film, Lucky Life takes its inspiration from the poetry of Gerald Stern. The film has a quiet openness about it, a sensitivity to the way pain and memory ripple through life. Chung edits the film intuitively, making connections that inspire reflection rather than determine meaning. The cool grays and blues of the film's palette fit the subject matter beautifully, and the poetry is especially well-chosen.
