Audience Member I remember enjoying this movie, however, the one thing that threw me off was the sudden change of tone at the end of the movie. Some might say that the tear-collecting villains final form was mild, but the sudden scary animation was rather sudden. Otherwise a pretty alright movie that has some humour that bodes pretty well with younger kids. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/30/24 Full Review John B Enjoyable animated family movie that has humour as shows us that the aliens may be friendly and helpful after all. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/10/23 Full Review Seth J A great kids film that I found charming and fun as an adult. It has become increasingly difficult to find childrens films that are not overtly indoctrinating or otherwise crude and objectionable to traditional christian sensibilities but this wonderful fun film is one of the good ones. Like most films that exclude adult themes and indoctrination it has been critically panned... but nobody actually cares about the critical reviews anymore do they? Critics relevance and general legitimacy died in the early 2000s. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/05/23 Full Review JulinaOnYT This movie is so slapstick funny and satisfying, some of it is predictable but it plays out as hoped. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Super indicado para crianças pequenas! Filme totalmente inocente! Sem sangue, sem conteúdo adulto e totalmente saudável! Ao contrário de muitos filmes que sempre tem algo adulto (mesmo que indiretamente), esse filme não nos deixa preocupados com o que vai acontecer! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Good watch, could watch again, and can recommend. It's sort of discovery of aliens in "Men in Black" meets the goofy animation of "Home". There's not a lot to this one but some goofy fun, despite a weirdly serious plotline that gives it just enough substance to prevent me from saying it's a rather silly movie. Instead it's a decent movie with a lot of rather silly parts to it. Probably great for younger audiences, but just nuanced enough to be acceptable for an older audience. Jake Wilson The Age (Australia) The actual plot is thin to the point of absurdity, much of it hinging on the aliens stumbling on an Earth infomercial and conceiving the desire to buy a certain kind of vibrating mat. Rated: 2/5 Sep 14, 2018 Full Review Tara Brady Irish Times Tonally and narratively, Luis and the Aliens is a dog's dinner. Rated: 1/5 Aug 31, 2018 Full Review Ed Potton Times (UK) Parents will have to be end-of-holidays desperate to take their little darlings to this punishingly uninspired animation. Rated: 1/5 Aug 24, 2018 Full Review James Croot Stuff.co.nz While the characters and situations may be a little too predictable and farcical for sustained enjoyable supervised viewing, there's an overall feeling of fun that emanates from the just-right running time. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 29, 2018 Full Review Adam Fresco Flicks (AU, NZ, UK) It has the feel of a movie put together by a committee, determined to reach for mediocrity. Rated: 1/5 Aug 29, 2018 Full Review Matthew Bond The Mail on Sunday (UK) A cartoon in which charm and humour are missing. Rated: 2/5 Aug 27, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews
