Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/19/21 Full Review dave j Starring Merle Oberon as the title character Lydia revaluating her love life which includes former flames, hosted and set up by family doctor, Mike (Joseph Cotton). Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member why didnt you choose him instead?! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Fine drama of a flirtatious young woman who remained single into old age due to a romantic encounter. She waits for man that is as flirtatious as her. Mostly seen in flashback, the movie starts with an extrodinary meeting of her and 3 former lovers now in old age themselves. The television Superman, George Reeves, has a role in the film as one fool for Lydia. Young Lydia plays with men's hearts like Scarlett O'Harra in Gone With the Wind. Sentimental old film this may be, but masterfully told. The snow scenes are excellent and the horse carriage sled race is something we today could never experience except on film. The lovers in her life appear throughout her younger life, hoping against hope Lydia will turn to them instead of this ghost of a character who stays away from her, only sending a letter now and then to encourage her to wait for him.
