The title dimwitted but spunky couple wins contest and get to move into a modern high tech home. Did I mention they have like a dozen annoying kids / brats? Hijinks ensue. Movie works best as a visual gag fest, contrasting their dirt poor living conditions, to the Kettles trying to survive the gadgetry of modern living. Thank you studio heads for cutting film down to an hour and fifteen minutes. Less is more. Based on the characters first introduced in the Betty Macdonald book "The Egg and I", the movies "flesh out" the people written about in the laugh out loud book. Marjorie Main and Percy Kilbride ARE the characters come to life! Do see all of the movies, you won't regret the time spent on them.
